FREE EPIDEMIOLOGY TRAINING
April 28-29, 2009, Casper
The Casper-Natrona County Health Department and the National Environmental Health Association
invite you to apply for "EPI-READY", a two day course in the principles of Foodborne Illness
Epidemiology. Subjects to be covered will include:

Surveillance Strategies

Investigation and Interview Techniques
-
Statistical Analysis
-
Choosing and Transporting Laboratory Samples and Specimens
-
Environmental Interventions
-
Case Reporting and Final Report Writing
Presenters will include food safety professionals from NEHA, CDC, the Columbus (Ohio) Health Dept.
and Wyoming Department of Health Epidemiology and Laboratory Sections.

Apply AFTER February 16, 2009. Include a statement about how this training will benefit you and/or
your Organization, and how you will put the training to use. NEHA will select candidates, with
preference given to "Team" applications featuring multi-disciplinary groups (Environmentalist + Nurse;
Nurse + Laboratorian; Laboratorian + Epidemiologist, etc.) Selections will be completed around the end
of March and successful candidates will be notified by NEHA.
There will also be a "Train the Trainer" session on April 30 for those who would like to be certified to
teach "EPI-READY" in other locations. Agendas for all three days are attached to this email.
Course attendance is free; attendees must make their own arrangements for lodging, lunch, and other
meals.
All three days sessions will be held at the Parkway Plaza Hotel and Convention Center in Casper
